Hundreds of children in the Guelph area arrive at school hungry on Monday mornings. The issue is that children from severely food-insecure homes depend on getting free food at school, Monday to Friday, but often go home to empty cupboards and fridges and struggle through the weekend. That’s why we run this weekend food program, because we passionately believe that No Child in Our Community Should Go Hungry.  

 

Food4Kids Guelph began in 2018 with the help of local Rotary Clubs. Today it is a standalone charity supporting 400 children in Guelph. Schools identify their students in need. Food4Kids Guelph then delivers nutritious weekend food bags for the children to take home from school every Friday. During school breaks, we mail grocery gift cards to their families to help with the purchase of food.
