We are looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper
Our Organization
Food4Kids Guelph is a small, local registered charity. On a weekly basis, we provide weekend food bags for children whose families are struggling to make ends meet. We purchase food that is then packaged and distributed as individual food bags to schools on Fridays, for the children to take home with them. The program is run by a dedicated team of volunteers with one Program Administrator who is our sole employee. Find out more on our website.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a community-minded individual to volunteer for the bookkeeping duties of Food4Kids Guelph. Currently, our bookkeeping is done by a very dedicated volunteer who undertakes these tasks in addition to several other activities. As we have grown, we are now in the process of redefining our roles for Treasurer, Bookkeeper, and Administrative Tasks.
Job Description for Bookkeeper

Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.

Bookkeeping knowledge.

Knowledge of payroll processing and related remittances.

Preparation of T4 slip for 1 employee.

Preparation of charitable tax receipts

Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports for the board of directors.

Working with the board Treasurer in managing financial reporting.

Prepare necessary working reports for our annual financial audit.

Completion of year-end CRA reports as necessary.

Present monthly financial statements to the Board within 10 days of month-end.
Expected time requirements

Approximately 7-10 hours per month with some extra time necessary at the fiscal year-end audit time.

We expect the individual to begin effective January 4, 2022.
